m|i|mo – museum of the moving image, was awarded an honourable mention in the category of Best Portuguese Museum in 2011, by the Associação Nacional de Museologia (Portuguese Association of Museology). Established during the 100th anniversary of Portuguese Cinema (1996), the museum offers a space to talk about Art, Science and Technique. It presents exhibitions and promotes many fun and creative activities connected to cinema and photography.
Its archive includes several collections that reveal how Cinematography has evolved, leading its visitors on an incredible journey to the limits of imagination, among light, shadow, colour, rhythm, sound, ingenuity, and art… illusion and reality!
