September is the month of 2 and 4-wheelers.
Running since 2014, this event came about as a way to show off Leiria’s Historic Vehicles.
The population of Leiria and the surrounding areas’ acceptance and contribution to the festival led to it continuing to exceed expectations year after year, with the number of classic cars on display, spectators and visitors ever growing, exceeding 55 thousand in the last edition.
The passion the people of Leiria have shown for classic cars has propelled the event to greater and greater heights.
In 2015, it adopted the name Leiria Sobre Rodas (Leiria on Wheels) and expanded its range of exhibitions, themes and activities.
Though sports cars became a focus, the diversity of the automotive sector was not overlooked, with special attention having always been placed on including all types of wheeled vehicles, whether 2 or 4-wheeled, as well as showing off the unique nature of products in the industry.
Conferences, commercial areas, exhibitions attended by Portuguese and international drivers, competitions and parades all make up this event’s programme, which has already become a benchmark in events of this kind in Portugal, delighting car, bike and motorsports lovers alike.
