The creative memory of José Afonso with UHF is the motto that drives the script of the show “A Herança do Andarilho” (The Stroller’s Heritage), edited on CD and LP, in a concert that brings together versions of some of the most symbolic and universal themes of the singer-songwriter.
Among the great classics of his career, from “Cavalos de Corrida” to “Rua do Carmo” or the more recent “Matas-me Com o Teu Olhar” and “Portugal – Somos Nós”, UHF revisit the work of the genius of melody, in the words of António Manuel Ribeiro, and take to the stage their versions of six themes by José Afonso: “Os Vampiros”, “No Comboio Descendente”, “Era de Noite e Levaram”, “Traz Outro Amigo Também”, “A Morte Saiu,” “A Morte de Rua”, “A Morte Saiu”, “A Vampiros,” “No Comboio Descendente”, “Era de Noite e Levaram”, “Traz Outro Amigo Também”, “A Morte e “A Morte Saiu à Rua”, and “Grândola, Vila Morena”. “Maria Faia” is the latest contribution to a universe in which acoustic, traditional sound joins urban electrifying power.
UHF will take the stage at 9:30 pm.
